Pedestrian Bridges

Our pedestrian bridges are used throughout the UK by event organisers, the construction industry and the rail industry.

Most of our pedestrian bridges can be quickly installed with the minimum of disruption and we aim to keep road closures to a minimum; sometimes this can take as little as three minutes.

A temporary pedestrian walkway 

The bridges are typically 1.8 metres wide - so three people can walk side by side. This means that, if necessary, 5,000 people can cross each bridge every hour. The bridges are built in steel and have aluminum deck and non-slip protected stair treads. We have three generations of specialised pedestrian bridges: 

Open Girder bridges, from 3-18metres (OG range) 

Box girder bridges, from 20 – 41m (BG range) 

A 47m Box girder bridge. (BG47) 

Pedestrian bridge installation 

If ground conditions permit, foundations are not normally required for short term hire, and because of the low weight/size ratio, the size of the crane used for installation can be reduced.  

Depending on the project, bridges with complete staircases and towers can sometimes be installed in one day. All these factors help to keep the costs down.

Road closure times for lifting in walkways can be as short as 5 minutes.
